Well if you are at all hooked in to the “fattyverse” you’ll know that over the past couple of days a little custom, fancy, cupcake bakery out of North Carolina called “Crumb” has been the focus of intense flame wars and trolling for being insensitive to us fatties. Now, when skimming over their website I get the distinct message of “we’re high falootin’ and also we can be gluten and nut free” … ok well maybe not “nut” free (har har). By god they charge $8 for their cupcakes which is more expensive than the custom organic ones I’ve had done at Whole Foods in days yonder of blissful gluttony.

So let’s get this party started:
There is a nice haul of gorgeous roma tomatoes in northern California right now at one of my favorite stores, The Grocery Outlet. These are nicer than the romas I’ve seen at Whole Foods and are only 4 for $1 !!! They dry up nicely in the dehydrator and work great in any raw recipe calling for tomato. In raw recipes, these have given the most “cooked” flavor of any of the others I’ve picked up anywhere. Ok, they aren’t organic, but heck, I like to save money and have great produce; wash your tomatoes well, is my advice.
